The Alster ferry stop "Winterhuder Fährhaus" is located in the beautiful district of Winterhude and is a popular starting point for walks, bike tours, and much more. The stop gets its name from the eponymous inn, which once played a significant role for the ferries on the Alster, as waterways were one of the most important means of transportation in the city at that time. This was due to the fact that many roads were not yet developed enough to be used properly.
